Spiral welded pipe: the low carbon carbon structural steel or low alloy structural steel strip is rolled into tube blank according to a certain spiral angle (called forming angle), and then welded together, it can produce large diameter steel pipe with narrow strip steel. The specifications are expressed in terms of outer diameter * wall thickness. Do not confuse hardfacing with a joining process. Hardfacing is the process of applying a harder or tougher metal to the base material. Hardfacing electrodes are divided into three categories: iron base, nickel base, and cobalt base, which are then alloyed with carbide-forming elements such as chromium, tungsten, molybdenum, and other elements. They typically do not have specific AWS classifications except for the standard cobalt alloy range 1, 6, 12, and 21.
The Court sustained Commerce’s second remand results. The Plaintiff, Xinboda, challenged the Final Determination in Commerce’s fifteenth administrative review of the antidumping duty order covering fresh garlic from China. Specifically, Xinboda challenged the surrogate financial statements used to derive surrogate financial ratios, the surrogate value for labor, the surrogate value for fresh whole raw garlic bulbs, and Commerce’s application of its “zeroing” methodology in calculating their dumping margin.
On Sunday, January 27, 2019, the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”) announced the lifting of sanctions imposed on En+ Group plc (“En+”), UC Rusal plc (“Rusal”) and JSC EuroSibEnergo (“ESE”). As previously reported here, this announcement follows the Administration’s notification submitted to Congress on December 19, 2018. According to a press release issued by OFAC, under the terms of the entities’ removal from the Specially Designated Nationals (“SDN”) list, “En+, Rusal and ESE have reduced [Russian oligarch] Oleg Deripaska’s direct and indirect shareholding stake in these companies and severed his control. This action ensures that the majority of directors on the En+ and Rusal boards will be independent directors – including U.S. and European persons – who have no business, professional or family ties to Deripaska or any other SDN, and that independent U.S. persons vote a significant block of the shares of En+.” OFAC also indicated that the companies have agreed to “unprecedented transparency” of their operations by U.S. Department of Treasury. Meanwhile, all individual sanctions against Mr. Deripaska remain in place.

Basic electrodes have a coating comprising CaCO3, fluorspar (CaF2), ferromanganese, and iron powder. The word basic refers to the coating’s pH. E7018 is the most popular basic electrode and achieves an arc with medium dig/drive and medium penetration. Basic coatings also have low hydrogen and moisture absorption levels, which are essential for critical welds because hydrogen molecules can permeate the weld metal and cause cracking when they expand and try to escape. As a result, this electrode category is commonly referred to as low hydrogen.
Hardfacing electrodes, when applied with a stringer bead or weave bead pattern, develop a cross-cracking (cross-check) pattern because of carbides that form in the matrix of the weld pool during solidification. This is normal. The exception is if the electrode is designed specifically for crack-free deposits.
