These classes, tailored to fit needs and requirements, will also cover the changes in the National Electrical Code and Calculations. They are also used for education hours needed for licensing.

On January 11, 2019, Venezuela initiated a World Trade Organization (“WTO”)  complaint against U.S. sanctions, claiming that the United States has “imposed certain coercive trade-restrictive measures on the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the context of attempts to isolate Venezuela economically.” That same day, the U.S. imposed additional sanctions on Venezuelan nationals and entities allegedly engaging in corrupt currency exchange transactions (see our previous post here). The WTO will now begin consultations, during which the parties will have an opportunity to resolve their dispute without entering into litigation.  If the parties cannot reach an agreement within 60 days, Venezuela may request adjudication by a dispute settlement panel.  It remains to be seen whether the WTO dispute settlement system will be of any assistance to Venezuela in light of predicted paralysis in December 2019 when two of the three current WTO judicial appointments are set to expire.   To date, the United States has refused to entertain any appellate body appointments due to concerns that the current members have strayed from their original mandate.

"When we put faces to the human impact of these trade issues, it can have a more tangible effect and the tribunal recognized this impact," said Alain Croteau, the Steelworkers’ Quebec Director, noting the union fought for the right to testify in such trade cases, which was granted only last year.

Mr. Jorge A. Ganoza, President, CEO and Director, commented, “Abnormal rains and electrical thunder storms not seen in a decade in the region are impacting our construction activities and schedule projections.  A large amount of the float in the construction schedule has been consumed due to a slow start and ramp-up in excavations at the leach pad and crushing plant, key activities in the critical path of the project.” Mr. Ganoza continued, “As a result, we have had to revise our original construction schedule. Our plan now is to initiate ore stacking early in the fourth quarter of 2019, with first dore poured at year end and commercial production targeted for the first quarter of ­2020.” Mr. Ganoza concluded, “The Company remains well funded with low debt and sufficient liquidity to meet its construction and working capital requirements for the completion of construction activities and operating ramp-up activities at Lindero.”

The 1999 Employee Stock Purchase Plan (Purchase Plan) allowed eligible employees to purchase the Company’s common shares at 85% of the market price at the end of each six-month purchase period through December 31, 2016. For purchase periods beginning after January 1, 2017, the purchase price is 100% of the market price at the end of each six-month purchase period. On April 16, 2012, the Company’s shareholders approved an amendment to the Purchase Plan, increasing the number of shares available under the Purchase Plan from 900,000 common shares to 1,400,000 common shares and making certain other changes to the terms of the Purchase Plan. Of the 1,400,000 common shares authorized to be issued under the Purchase Plan, 366,867 were available for purchase as of December 31, 2018. At the discretion of the Company, shares purchased under the Purchase Plan can be either new issue shares or shares purchased in the open market. To provide shares for purchases for the Purchase Plan, 7,757 common shares were purchased in the open market in 2018, 4,202 common shares were purchased in the open market and 5,284 common shares were issued in 2017 and 53,875 common shares were issued in 2016.
